Dangerous times

Busy times. Lots to do and lots to worry about.

We did have a little sigh of relief when we heard the American election results. That Obama bloke won't be the answer to all this stuffed animal's problems but considering the alternatives on offer he is better than being poked in the eye with a pointy stick.

But now - eek! - what will Shrub do?. And even more importantly for bears - what's that Palin woman doing? She'll be on the loose now - possibly armed and dangerous and with a grudge against us. Should I be wearing a bullet proof vest? Oh noes. I don't think Build-a-bear do bullet proof vests. aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh!

Ah, well. Madame is dragging me away to Makka Pakka country* for a few days so I could end up as the victim of an over vigorous face washing.

Look at him - all innocent in his little scarf and bobble hat - but he's just waiting for an unsuspecting bear to wander past. Then *boom* he whips out the Sponge of Doom and the Red Soap of Despair and *wallop*. Bear down. Soapy faced indignity.

Watch out. They are everywhere. In the bath. On the beach. Up trees.

Must go. Take care.

Oh. *Ayrshire

Bear on a bridge. Bear in a cave. Horse on drugs. Socialist squirrels.

I'm not buying this bear on a bridge story. He panicked. Humph. I think we all know that this was an Extreme Ironing stunt that went wrong. Just out of shot in that first photo there's a polar bear legging it with a can of spray starch and a pile of freshly pressed pillow cases.

Elsewhere on the Interknit I've learned that drugs is bad.

And why Mummy Mommy Squirrel is a democrat.

I haven't thought about it too much but I'd say that the squirrels about here looked more like Socialist Workers. I'll try humming The Red Flag next time one lands in the window box.

Had a bit of old fashioned fun last weekend thanks to a challenge from top bear Jasper - pillow fort building.

I built me a Cushion Cave. Snuggly. A certain person was rather sniffy.

"Stop messing up the bed. Why are you building a Neolithic burial chamber out of cushions?"

Just jealous. And there weren't enough pillows for a Great Pyramid.

fireworks!

Bye, bye, Tiny Blur.

Now he's wild and free (to a good home).

In other news.

Holiday! Birthday! Both coming up soon! Yay! Too much excitement! Too many !!!!!!!

But if you think that's excessive - over to our Wainwright correspondent ...

screeeeeeeaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeerufusglasgowclydeoctobergotticketsoexcitedscreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There may have been more screaming but I blacked out. I don't know. He wore a flat cap well, but, ow, ow, ow ...

Nose now pinged. Must not mock the Wainwright. Humpf.

Before I go and sit in the naughty corner - the fireworks are, of course, from the Singapore Fireworks Festival. I am not aware of any mass celebrations to mark the end of this era - the People's Tone shuffles off without pageants and ceremony. I could be wrong. Maybe somewhere in Britain tonight a sad and lonely figure is trying to light a damp sparkler and raising a cup of warm Vimto.
